Saint Luke's Hospital (Kansas City, Missouri) took over the hospital in 1903 and established the School of Nursing. The first graduate of the program was in 1906. In the 1920s St. Luke's moved to its present location. The library moved to the Helen F. Spencer Center for Education in 1972 and the student residence moved to 4545 Washington in 1987.〔 In 1991, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program was launched.〔 In 2010, Dean L. Hubbard became the interim president and was named president in March 2011. In 2013 The college has suffered a series of notoriously low NCLEX pass rate and the loss of Accreditation of its Graduate Programs. The college has aimed to restructure itself and its staff in an attempt to improve its reputation.
